Week 8 Growth Mindset

I have a hard time committing to more creative ideas due to my fear of public failure. I don't have enough time to write a second story or go back to the drawing board if a story doesn't work out, so I tend to play it safe with my writing. This really matches up with more things on the left of the list than the right, unfortunately. I hope that by putting out some work in a receptive and friendly environment like this class will help me feel more confident about doing similar things in other places in the future. On the other side of the coin, I hope this class will make me more comfortable with giving critical feedback, because I also have trouble with this. Thanks for reading.

I like this picture, because this was a lesson that took me a while to learn. Life can be hard sometimes, but if you get a second chance and didn't learn anything from the first go round, you will lose again.

I saw this and thought that it was a great message to pass along. When people are constantly high strung or always worrying about things, others take notice. Learning is something that has always come from a place of self motivation for me. Nothing, not even the desire to pass a class, is capable of making me study if I don't have internal motivation.

Growth Mindset: Week 1

I was heavily exposed to Growth Mindset last semester during Epics of India. I really enjoyed taking a small part of every week to work on myself, and not just school work. I'm looking forward to growing even more as a student and person this semester. Finding an intrinsic motivation to learn is the single best way to succeed in your education. I'm going to leave you with the same image I placed in this post last semester, featuring a quote from Joseph Campbell.
